Avdata Australia, a Canberra-based company has been in business for more than fourteen years. Initially home-based, the company now includes twelve staff members who benefit from the flexible and interactive approach to management adopted as an integral part of company policy.

In 1989 Avdata designed and developed a Central Billing Service specifically for Airport Owners. The Airport Charges Billing Service now conducts billing on behalf of over 110 airports across Australia.

In 1993 the Billing Service was extended to include Truckwash billing through the development of the National Truckwash System which is now used by over 60 Saleyards Australia-wide. Water Sales Billing is another of the services we provide.

Our latest projects include the development of a highly flexible access monitoring and control system suitable for use in a variety of applications such as gate access, building entry and equipment use.

Avdata has developed a range of specialised hardware sold for use with the Avdata Billing Services, or as self-contained equipment, including audio data recorders, truckwash controllers, water sales and access controllers and touch memory read heads. Niche markets have been identified for this equipment, with some products being exported to countries across Europe, North and South America.

There are real benefits for Australian communities using Avdata’s services to generate revenue. In addition data collected by Avdata has significant ‘public good’ impact in regard to the environment, and in search and rescue, weather reporting, police and customs, drug detection and Bureau of Air Safety investigations.
