Fitzroy River Water (FRW) is a commercial business unit of Rockhampton Regional Council responsible for operating and maintaining water and sewerage assets totalling approximately $990 M (replacement value).
FRW is the 4th largest provider of water services in Queensland outside the South East corner, covering an area of 18,361km².

FRW provides water and/or sewerage services to a population of approximately 105,000 in the communities of Rockhampton, Capricorn Coast, Gracemere, Mount Morgan, Marlborough and Ogmore.
FRW will enhance the community’s quality of life providing sustainable water, sewerage and environmental services, through innovation, technical expertise, business efficiency, excellence in customer service and commitment to the environment.

FRW is working to ensure that the Region has reliable water sources that will meet the Region’s growth and provide water through the driest periods of climate variability in the future.

Throughout the Rockhampton Region, FRW maintains:

• 1,258 km of water supply and 923 km of sewerage pipeline
• 37 reservoirs – an additional 2 currently under construction
• 56 water pump stations
• 39,769 water connections
• 32,087 sewerage connections
• 3 Water Treatment Plants
• 7 Sewerage Treatment Plants
• 92 sewerage pump stations
