Over 800 individuals attended the 38th Queensland Water Industry Operations Conference and Exhibition held by the Water Industry Operators Association’s (WIOA).  This important water industry event was held on 5 & 6 June 2013 on the Gold Coast. Delegates were officially welcome by General Manager Operations of Seqwater, Ms Alex Fisher and Mr Abel Immaraj from DEWS Queensland provided the opening address. Mr Ian Johnson, an industrial accident survivor provided the keynote address, focussing on the safety of individuals.

The event concluded with the official awards ceremony, which saw Chris Hughes from Unitywater win the prestigious industry award, the 2013 Queensland Operator of the Year.

A comprehensive exhibition with over 100 trade sites saw companies exhibit the latest in equipment, services and process technologies available to the water, wastewater and liquid conveyancing industries. The winner of the Ron Bergmeier Award for best exhibition site was Endress + Hauser.
