The Water Industry Operators Association of Australia (WIOA) is a national non-for-profit association with a primary role of facilitating the collection, development and exchange of quality information between people undertaking operational roles in the water industry.

Nominations for the annual Queensland water industry operators’ awards are open. Applications close on the 10th May. These awards recognise the achievements of operational staff employed in the Queensland water industry.

Todd Pattison wins 204 NSW Operator of the Year Award
Congratulations to all the water industry professionals who were recognised for their achievements at the WIOA NSW Conference held in Orange which saw over 600 in attendance.
Todd from the Wyong Shire Council won the prestigious 2014 NSW Operator of the Year Award that is sponsored by the NSW Water Directorate.
Bega Valley Shire Council wins 2014 NSW Orica Water Taste Test
Bega Valley SC has won bragging rights as having the Best Tasting Water in NSW after it won the award at the WIOA conference held in Orange. Other finalists included Orange CC, Nambucca SC and Wingacarribee SC.
The taste test is a fun and exciting way to raise awareness of the quality of NSW's drinking water and to recognise the efforts of local water service providers in delivering valuable water services to their communities.
Queensland Charity Bowls Day raises over $1200 for charity
Participants had a great day at the WIOA QLD Charity Bowls Day held on Friday 14th March at the Yandina Bowling Club. The team from the Automation Group took out the coveted Queensland Tradies Cup.
Victorian Golf Day raises over $2750 for charity
All participants had a great day at the Charity Golf Day held on Sunday 20th October at Euroa Golf Club. The team representing the Water Infrastructure Group took out the coveted Tradies Cup.
Update on the Status of the National Certification Framework
WIOA has been invited onto the Water Industry Skills Taskforce (WIST) and we are represented by EO George Wall. At the June meeting, responsibility for progressing the National Certification Framework was handed over to the WIST by the National Water Commission.
